Lincoln has dropped a bit of a surprise with the pricing of the 2011 Lincoln MKZ hybrid. Unlike most other hybrid vehicles, there will be no price premium compared to the cheapest conventional model. The MKZ hybrid, with its 2.5-liter four cylinder hybrid powertrain, will start at $35,180 including destination and delivery. That’s the same price as the front-wheel drive 3.5-liter V6-powered model.

Redesigned for the 2011 model year, the new Ford Explorer will be available with an optional 2.0-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which Ford claims will increase fuel economy by at least 30 percent over the current-generation Explorer. The 2010 model’s old-school 4.0-liter V6 Explorer is EPA rated at 13 mpg city, 19 mpg highway. Ford claims the EcoBoost could bring the highway fuel economy up to 26 mpg on the highway.

Honda, has unveiled their facelifted accord, – The 2011 Honda Accord. Both coupes and sedans will have be revised, but the engines will still be the same, with some changes on its parts to reduce friction and to improve its fuel economy rating. The new car will have a new front bumper, tail lights, and set of wheels. They also added tons of new cool features such as a new rear-view camera, memory seats, paddle shifters, and new cloth material choices. Special Edition trim is also being offered for the sedan that includes heated leather seats, leather-covered steering wheel, and lumbar support cushion for the driver.

But here’s the wonderful thing about the GT-R. It is first and foremost a machine. It seems as though the approach that many vehicle manufacturers—domestic and foreign–take to performance and even muscle cars is to make them seem more mannerly. Nice. To take away any sense that once you peal away the appealing sheet metal, carefully place aside that carbon fiber body work, there is a machine under there. But that’s not the case with the GT-R.
